Morgan Colonial Reproductions is a small, 1 person workshop located at the Dudley-Holman house, a 1798 Federal Colonial situated on the picturesque olde town common next to the 1st Congregational Church in Douglas, Massachusetts.

Morgan Colonial Reproductions specializes in 18th and early 19th century painted furniture and accessory pieces for the Early American, Colonial, or Country Primitive home, with an emphasis on the William and Mary period. Most pieces are based on original antiques. Some are representative of the era and a Morgan Colonial original. Each piece is made one at a time out of select furniture grade pine, and/or poplar and/or  soft maple, using traditional joinery methods, with square cut nails,  some hand planing and beading, and hand painted in a historic, aged finish. Finishes are applied in a layering fashion of stain, paint, crackle, and varnish and hand rubbed to achieve the time worn look of over 200 years of use. Some case pieces are joined using hand-cut dovetails, all doors are paneled, made using square pegged mortise and tenon joinery, fastened using hinges hand forged by a blacksmith. Table legs and  bun feet are finely turned in the William and Mary manner. Fine reproduction brasses are also used on boxes and other select pieces. Mirrors are accentuated with hand-blown antiqued mirror glass with varying degrees of patination. Drawers are hand-cut dovetails.  Each piece when finished is then branded with the Morgan Colonial Reproductions stamp.  Pieces can be ordered with no dovetailing, standard mirror glass, and less costly brasses which will lower the price considerably.

The following pages display a current portfolio of furniture and accessory pieces being made by Morgan Colonial Reproductions. Upon review of other Early American, Antique, or Colonial material, additional furniture or accessory pieces may be added.  Custom work can also be performed.
